Barack Obama uses the Internet for Reputation Management

In Obama’s latest exploitation of the Internet, www.fightthesmears.com, is a micro site created by the Obama for President team to confront the issues. It is smart, proactive, search engine optimization (SEO) and utilization of the Internet to help balance the media.
When I work with clients on their own Reputation Management Programs, I always try to create as many micro sites as possible and search engine optimize them for their own name. If you can “Own the entire first page of Google,” then you have a good change of buffering yourself during the inevitable disputes with unsatisfied clients. Even the most customer service oriented organizations can face negative publicity from disgruntled clients. So, it is smart business to proactively work on “owning that first page of Google.”

So, I was coming up the escalator on the Washington DC metro rail at the Chinatown/Gallery Place Metro and noticed for the first time an AT&T store. As I got to the top of the escalator, I saw this huge line wrapping around the building. There must have been 300 people waiting in line and, of course, holding onto their sleeping bags and cots. It was about 8am and the store had just opened.
When I was coming home tonight, nobody was in line. So, I’m not sure if they ran out of phones or if the novelty had already worn off by 5pm. Anyway, the new phone promises to be faster, cheaper, and more functional but my biggest question is … can it read Flash files?!?
